Senior Application Programmer

General Requirements
Under general supervision, analyze and define computer applications systems to develop programs. Develops complete flow charts and diagrams. Code, prepare and eliminate inaccuracies in logic and data coding as well as modifying and refining existing programs to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Requires considerable technical knowledge and proficiency in computer and scripting languages including Java, Visual Basic, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and LotusScript.  Familiarity and experience with major enterprise database programs such as SQL Server.  Technical knowledge of systems hardware and software. Trains users in conversion and implementation of a system.  Keeps up-to-date on industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards. Typical Duties: Periodic upgrading and enhancing of current Access and SQL database applications. Writing code, testing and debugging software applications. Recommending system changes and enhancements. Documenting software specification and training end users. Administration of Domino and BlackBerry servers. Maintenance and upgrade of current QSi Lotus Notes based ISO9000 database.  

Experience/Education Required
Basic Qualifications: Degree in computer sciences preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Competent in most phases of programming. Two plus years experience with Java related technologies. Two plus years web development (HTML, CSS). Two plus years relational database experiences (SQL, Access). Advanced scripting experience preferred (LotusScript, JavaScript). Experience with Domino Web and Lotus Notes development. Other Qualifications: Good personal computer and business solutions software skills. Analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs. Interpersonal skills to interact with team members. Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and support personnel. Ability to work on multiple projects and be flexible/adaptable. Ability to travel on a limited basis to corporate satellite facilities within the US. Ability to work extended hours when necessary to complete projects on time.
